Job Summary

A California licensed technologist who performs safe imaging procedures on all inpatient and outpatient age-specific populations. The technologist must maintain an ARRT certification and be able to work safely in an acute care environment. They must be able to interact accordingly with other patient care departments that visit the Radiology environment. The technologist must be willing to assist at any of the UCSF Medical Center Locations and to possibly train in a higher modality (i.e. CT, MRI, IR).

Performs various radiographic exams and processes images on various archival systems. Professionally accountable for submitting high-quality images to PACS. Participates in performance improvement activities in the department. Demonstrates excellent customer service to patients. Correctly identifies patients for the procedures performed. Follows Infection Control policies, radiation policies and good body mechanics. Maintains appropriate continuing education credits. Complies with all Medical Center and Department policies and procedures. Requires CRT and ARRT licensure.

  • Requires Veni-puncture Certification
  • Requires BLS (CPR) Certification
  • Graduate of a formal radiology technology-training program in an AMA approved school.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, with the ability to rotate shifts and coverage for weekends and holidays. Must be willing to assist at any of the UCSF Medical Center Locations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer recent work experience in an acute care setting
  • Prefer CRT Fluoroscopy licensure
  • Prefer CT Certification or obtained within 6 month probationary period
