Patient Ratios: 1:1-3

Number of Beds: 63 beds

Department Specifics: Neonatologist and NNP in-house 24/7, Multidisciplinary Team Approach, Multidisciplinary Respiratory Modalities, Daily Multidisciplinary Patient Care Rounds, Electronic Self-Scheduling, No Float to Adult Care, Active Unit Based Council, NICU Parent Advocacy Group

Patient Population: 22 weeks GA - Term

Patient Ratios: 1:1-4

Number of Beds: 83, 8 bed Tiniest Texans unit, average daily census 50

Unit selling points: State Designated Level IV NICU Care. 600+ Annual NICU admissions. 24/7 Neonatologist and NNP in-house coverage. Nurses are encouraged to set and reach their goals. Training and advancement opportunities. Neonatal transport team. Neonatal Internship. Transition to Practice residency. Support to achieve specialty certification.

Registered Nurse Requirements

  • At least two years of RN experience in the NICU, preferably at a level III or higher
  • Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program
  • License/Certification

o RN- Registered Nurse

o BLS- Basic Life Support (required within 30 days of hire)

o NRP- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (required within 30 days of hire)
