Summary
The Director of Emergency Services (Registered Nurse) is accountable for providing leadership to the Emergency Services Departments through the management of clinical, financial, and human resources. Responsible for planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating nursing practice that applies nursing process and supports the mission of Doctors Hospital and Patient Care Services. Exhibits excellent technical skill, critical thinking, initiative, integrity, accuracy and compassion towards the delivery of quality nursing care in an interdisciplinary practice environment. Oversees and directs Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Response planning and preparation for the organization.
The Director of Emergency Services oversees all department functions and provides leadership in the development and evaluation of nursing personnel, and in maintaining operations of the patient care units. Promotes teamwork between departments and contributes to the provision of safe, high quality nursing care. Functions as a role model for professional nursing practice and behavior while promoting care that protects patient dignity and consistently strives to improve the patient experience. Supports quality, education, research, and quality improvement efforts. Demonstrates expertise in motivating the nursing team toward a common goal of providing safe, quality patient care while supervising care delivery in a fiscally responsible manner. Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
Education
Required: B.A./B.S. in Nursing
Preferred: MSN and required to be started within 6 months and completed within 2 years from start of program
Experience
Required: 5+ Years Hospital Clinical and 2-3 Years Management/Leadership Role
Certifications
Required: Active California R.N. license, Healthcare Provider BLS upon hire, TNCC, ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire.
Preferred: CCRN or CEN preferred.
