Reliability Maintenance and Engineering Manager

- Provide leadership to the Reliability Maintenance
& Engineering Departments which provides reliability maintenance and
engineering services to safely meet the Tennessee Operations business
plan.
- Oversee the coordination of engineering and
maintenance projects from concept, scope development, written
specifications, bid solicitations and related bid meetings, equipment
and facilities engineering/design, manufacturing and installation
through final start-up, acceptance and project close-out.
- Oversee Engineering assistance to EHS, production,
technical and maintenance with various types of equipment and process
issues from an engineering perspective.
- Oversee Plant’s Capital and Major Maintenance spending plans to utilize all available authorized funds.
- Supervision of Plant Engineering, Construction
Engineering, Furnace Maintenance Engineering, Contracted Engineering
Services, Reliability Maintenance and Facilities Maintenance teams.
- Insure that teams are meeting defined goals in the
areas of Safety, Quality, Throughput, Cost, and Profit to achieve
project success for all the projects assigned to them and referenced in
the department goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Major activities/Key challenges:
- Direct and manage multiple concurrent engineering
projects and project managers while ensuring their success in meeting
their respective objectives.
- Implement approved engineering budgets and monitor
actual expenses to ensure they fall within budgets, analyzing out of
budget expenses and ensuring they are offset in other areas of the
project unless fully justified.
- Directs and supports maintenance and engineering
efforts to aid and improve plant performance related to safety, quality
delivery and cost
- Responsible for developing engineered solutions for plant safety and environmental issues.
- Assisting in the development and the execution of the
5 year strategy for Tennessee Operations including growth projects,
sustaining projects, major maintenance and interfacing with corporate
procurement and other resources for successful implementation of plan.
- Assisting and mentoring staff such as engineers,
plant manufacturing personnel, maintenance mechanics and electricians
and other similar personnel, within the plant and outside of the plant
through technical expertise, training and project leadership.
- Perform administrative and oversight functions in
approving proposals, expenditures, enforcing policies, conducting
performance management for department
- Provides expert process knowledge and applies
engineering science to establish and maintain control and capability for
production processes and for continuously improving technology.
- Maintains a high level of internal control over
assigned business processes and implements controls to adequately manage
business risks consistent with Arconic expectations. This involves
continuous compliance, auditing, & certification of assigned
business processes.
- Implements and directs all phases of complex engineering projects to provide new or upgraded equipment and processes.
- Provides creative, innovative, and comprehensive problem-solving capability.
- Conveys technical ideas and concepts from conception to start-up to support plant objectives and goals.
- Oversees the preparation of cost estimates and
pricing of projects to ensure Arconic’s competitive market position
while maintaining company profit goals.
- Manages Plant Capital Improvement Program.
- Prepares cost estimates for projects.
- Oversees preparation of capital Request for Authorization’s (RFA’s).
- Oversees requisitioning, delivery, and approval of equipment.
- Coordinates installation and startup of new equipment.
- Coordinates equipment shutdowns with production.
- Manages location’s capital budget.
- Ensures that contractor safe practices are met and
that all necessary safety evaluations are performed. Manages Plant
Maintenance Department.
- Creates and coordinates plant maintenance strategy.
- Supervises contracted maintenance work.
- Coordinates maintenance training
- Ensures that preventive and predictive maintenance programs meet the needs of the plant.
- Investigates and resolves manufacturing problems
through the direction and deployment of manufacturing engineering in
order to optimize product performance while minimizing cost.
- Conducts studies related to design, production
methods and equipment in order to recommend improvements which will
optimize product performance while minimizing cost.
- Monitors and reports on cost reductions which are a result of method improvements in order to improve profit margins.
- Ensures continued departmental effectiveness through the selection, development, training and motivation of a competent staff.
- Initiates, reviews and up-dates engineering standards
and guidelines, repair and maintenance recommendations, and equipment
supply sources and cost data in support of plant operations.
- Ensure compliance to required audit standards (such
as ISO and IATF) are met across all operations and shifts within scope
of position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in Engineering
- 10 + years of experience in heavy manufacturing industry, preferably metals' industry.
- 5-9 years’ experience required in project management.
- 3-5 years’ experience preferred in supervisory role.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the
United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required
at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this
position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10-12 years required of experience and expertise in
one of the following specialized technical areas: casting, hot rolling,
cold rolling, mill finishing or facilities preferred.
- 10-12 years’ experience required in project management.
- 8 + years’ experience preferred in supervisory role
